5 reasons strength training is good for you!

It’s no secret that I love lifting weights. Here are some of the benefits that come with it.

You’ll look HOT: ladies, that “toned” look you are after doesn’t come from countless hours on the treadmill. While cardio is good for your health, it does not promote increased lean mass (aka muscle). You might lose weight, if that is your goal, but you are going to be skinny fat instead of “toned”. If you want to be in the best shape of your life, look no further than the weight room! You can keep your cardio though. It’s not one or the other.

And no, you will NOT look like a man. 
Those female bodybuilders you have seen while growing up, who
scarred you for life (I know some scarred me!), did not get that
way by simply lifting weights. They make constant (ab)use of
anabolic substances. To make it short, you have zero chance of
looking like a she-hulk even if you train {very hard} for years.

 

You’ll be stronger and healthier: this is a no brainer, since we are talking about strength/weight training, but yes, don’t underestimate this in case of a zombie apocalypse. Jokes aside, being stronger and fitter means your quality of life will be higher. Less chance of injuries or disease, stronger immune system.
